Certified Floodplain Manager Exam (July 15, 2026)

NeFSMA is offering an in-person opportunity to take the Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) exam in conjunction with our annual conference in Kearney.

Registration is through the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). You must register for the exam by June 24, 2026. Click here to learn more about the exam or to register.

Lori Laster and Elijah Kaufman will be available for a Q & A session from 9 am to 12 pm. This session is open to anyone and is not intended as a study session for the exam. The exam will begin at 1 pm.

2026 Stormwater Scramble (July 15, 2026)

Join us for the 2026 Stormwater Scramble!

We will be back at Nebraska Dunes Golf Course, just outside Kearney, NE on July 15, 2026. Then join us for the NeFSMA Networking Social at the Younes Conference Center North at 7 pm where the top golfers and flag prize winners will be recognized.

We are currently accepting donations for flag prizes. Please contact Nate Hartman (402.520.2408) if you would like to donate a flag prize. Your donations make this event possible, and we are truly grateful for all your support in the past! Thank you for your generosity!

Registration fee is $75 per person. This includes the cart and driving range. Mulligans will be available to purchase at the event. You may register as an individual or you may add guest registrations for a whole team. Please indicate if you need to be placed on a team or will be part of another team. Registration is non-refundable (but transferable) unless the tournament is canceled due to inclement weather. Please complete registrations by July 10, 2026.

Structure of Tournament:

Tourney rules will be read prior to the first tee time. Though your tee time will be announced prior to the event, it is expected all participants will arrive before 1:00 PM.

Tournament starts at 1:00 PM (Weather Pending)
Three-Person Team Scramble (Best Ball,-everyone hits a drive, players all hit next shots within 1 club length of the best drive)
18-holes
Flag Prize cards will be scattered throughout the course!
Lowest cumulative score WINS!

2026 Annual Conference (July 16, 2026)

Please join us for NeFSMA’s Annual Conference on July 16, 2026 in Kearney at the Younes Conference Center North. Get ready for insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and valuable presentations.

A draft agenda is available here and Continuing Education Credits will be available for Certified Floodplain Managers.

You can contact the Crown Plaza Hotel at (308) 238-7000 if you plan to stay overnight. A block of rooms is available for $179.95 until June 15, 2026. Just tell them you're with NeFSMA!

In addition to the conference, we will be hosting the Certified Floodplain Manager Exam on July 15, 2026 at the Kearney Public Library. More details are available here.

The 2026 Stormwater Scramble will also be on July 15. Get a team together and join us for an afternoon of golf.
